Global football governing body, FIFA has banned Chad from football until further notice.
The decision was taken by the Bureau of the Fifa Council on Wednesday and takes effect immediately.
Note that in December 2020, Fifa had rejected a request from the country’s ministry of sports to dissolve the Chadian Football Federation.
On March 10, the minister for youth and sports released a statement to prevent the Chadian Football Association, FTFA, from performing its obligatory duties due to a dispute between- both parties.
CAF then disqualified Chad from the Africa Cup of Nations qualification race, just a few days prior to their fixtures against Namibia and Mali, following the sport Minister's actions.
FIFA has now waded in, banning the country henceforth.
FIFA says the ban was as a result of government interference in the football operations of the African country but announced that the suspension will be reversed as soon as the relevant government decisions have been revoked.
“The Bureau of the Fifa Council decided to suspend the Chadian Football Association (FTFA) with immediate effect due to government interference,” a statement from the Fifa website read.
“The suspension was prompted by the recent decisions of Chadian government authorities to permanently withdraw the powers delegated to the FTFA, establish a national committee for the temporary management of football and seize control of the FTFA’s premises.
“The suspension will be lifted once the relevant government decisions have been repealed and the FTFA and its management, led by president Moctar Mahamoud Hamid, have confirmed to Fifa that the FTFA premises are again under its control.”

The suspects were arrested during an early morning operation following credible intelligence received by the Commission about their alleged criminal activities.
Ten men suspected of engaging in internet fraud have been apprehended by Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Lagos Zonal Office.
The suspects are: Jonathan Daniel Adebayo, Lawal Waidi Seun, Adeosun Joseph, Taiwo Gbemileke, Oseni Omotayo, Emmanuel Fakiyesi, Rasheed Ogunlana, Oladunni Segun, Sowunmi Rotimi, and Efetobore Prince Wilfred.
They were arrested on Saturday, January 9, 2021, during an early morning operation in the Alagbado area of Lagos, following credible intelligence received by the Commission about their alleged criminal activities.
According to the commission, officials recovered cars, mobile phones, laptop computers, passports, a digital video recorder, and a checkbook from the suspects at the point of arrest, They also disclosed that the suspects will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.
A 27-year-old Nigerian man has admitted taking part in a conspiracy to loot both Washington State's Employment Security Department and state of Pennsylvania unemployment insurance funds.
Esogie Osawaru, also known as "Milk Anthony" was arrested by the FBI in June 2020 along with a Nigerian co-defendant, Nosayamen Iyalekhue, 33, for defrauding victims using various online scams during the COVID-19 pandemic. Read HERE
Iyalekhue and Osawaru participated in a series of romance, pandemic unemployment insurance, and other online scams designed to defraud victims by convincing them to send money to accounts controlled by the defendants.
To carry out the scams, the defendants used false foreign passports in the names of others, but with their photos, to open numerous bank accounts, and in turn directed the victims to send money to these accounts. Iyalekhue and Osawaru then rapidly withdrew the victims’ money from various bank branches and ATMs, often multiple times during a single day. The schemes included collecting unemployment insurance in the name of others during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Osawaru on Friday, pleaded guilty to wire fraud and unlawful monetary transactions, court records show.
He has agreed to forfeit up to $1.3 million in assets he may own that are the proceeds from unemployment insurance fraud schemes and various other online scams, which saw him fleece victims in online romance schemes, according to court records filed in the U.S. District Court for Massachusetts.
Osawaru signed an agreement to plead guilty on Aug. 24th, but that was not announced publicly until Nov. 13. Although that announcement made no specific mention of his involvement in Washington state's ESD fraud, it has been confirmed by officials here and in U.S. District court documents.
Osawaru will be sentenced at a court hearing on March 11, 2021. He will face deportation proceedings, but he was released on Nov. 11 and has put up a cash bond of $10,000 with the court, public records show.
Osawaru was ordered not to discuss or meet with any other suspect in the case and submit to location monitoring. He has surrendered his passport and was also ordered by U.S. District Court Judge Douglas Woodlock not to open any new bank accounts or lines of credit, or face the risk of going back to jail.
The FBI, which seized Osawaru's email records from Microsoft headquarters, says it discovered that in mid-May unidentified co-conspirators caused Osawaru's Eastern Bank account to get $10,710 from Washington state unemployment insurance benefits in the name of a Washington state resident.
The fraud victim told FBI special agents they never applied for state unemployment benefits and didn't know Osawaru, FBI Special Agent Michael Livingood said in a sworn affidavit to get the search warrant.
Six unidentified co-conspirators allegedly worked the various frauds with Osawaru, other court records show.
United States Attorney Andrew E. Lelling in Boston and Joseph R. Bonavolonta , special agent in charge of the FBI Boston Field Division, said the Osawaru faces a sentence up to 20 years in prison, three years of probation, and a fine up to $250,000.
In his plea in the FBI case, Osawaru admitted that he and others used a array of fake names, forged foreign passports and other documents to open multiple bank accounts. They used these bank accounts to receive proceeds of online crimes and quickly withdrew all the money at five different banks.
In 2019, for example, the FBI says Osawaru used a fraudulent Nigerian passport in the name of “ Milk Anthony” to open three bank accounts. One of those accounts was at TD Bank USA, where' Iyalekhue was an employee for about a year.
The FBI said in its June 2020 search warrant application that Iyalekhue was fired in 2019 when the bank's global security and investigation team detected him engaging in misconduct. Iyalekhue's case remains before the court, documents show.
The United States government has asked its citizens to exercise caution while traveling and residing in Nigeria.
In a notice shared on its official website and Twitter, the United States of America’s Embassy in Nigeria averred that crime in endemic in the country and tends to increase during the holidays.
For fear of terrorism and kidnap, the U.S. cautioned its citizens residing in Nigeria against traveling to Adamawa, Bauchi, Borno, Gombe, Kaduna, Kano, and Yobe states.
Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa, Cross Rivers, Delta, and Rivers states were also described as “unsafe coastal areas” out of fear of possible civil unrest, kidnapping, and maritime crime.

England international and Manchester united striker, Marcus Rashford has revealed his deep bond with his boyhood club, hinting that he wants to stay at Manchester United for the rest of his career.

I think people see some of the stuff that has been happening since I've been in the first team but the bond that I have with United is much greater than these last five years and it will forever be greater than probably my actual career because they are the reason I have become a footballer, they have given me the opportunity to express myself and to find out I had talent in football."

Barcelona defender, Sergi Roberto has tested positive for coronavirus, the club confirmed on Wednesday.
The 28-year-old Spaniard is currently out injured after picking up a knock on November 21 during the match against Atlético Madrid, which leaves him on the sidelines for up to two months.
He has now been dealt a setback in his recovery after contracting Covid-19.
The club said in a statement;
'After the PCR tests carried out on Tuesday, first-team player Sergi Roberto has tested positive for Covid-19.
The player is in good health and is isolating at home following his recovery from the injury that occurred on November 21.
The club has informed the relevant sports and health authorities, and all those who had contact with the player were tracked via further PCR tests.
Roberto suffered a rupture in the femoral rectus of his right thigh at the end of Atlético Madrid v Barça game (1-0), an injury that means he will be out of action for about two months.

39-year-old AC Milan star, Zlatan Ibrahimovic has taken to social media to vent at EA sports, makers of the FIFA 21 game franchise, alleging his image was included in the hugely popular video game without his permission.
According to Zlatan he is not a member of FIFpro, the professional body that all professional footballers belong too, and someone is making money off him without his knowledge.
On Monday night, Zlatan made a social media rant saying it is “time to investigate”.
“Who gave FIFA EA Sport permission to use my name and face? @FIFPro?” he wrote on Twitter.
“I’m not aware to be a member of Fifpro and if I am I was put there without any real knowledge through some weird maneuver.
“And for sure I never allowed @FIFAcom or Fifpro to make money using me.
“Somebody is making profit on my name and face without any agreement all these years. Time to investigate”

Earlier this year EA Sports announced an exclusive multi-year partnership with AC Milan which commenced with the launch of FIFA 21 this October.

Sports fans will finally be allowed back into stadiums as Prime Minister Boris Johnson is set to reveal the new three-tier system that will come into force in England after lockdown ends on December 2nd. This comes a week after the Department for Culture Media and Sport submitted proposals to the Cabinet Office for the return of fans to grounds in December for the first time since the first lockdown back in March.
Under the new rules, spectator sports outdoors will be allowed in Tier 1 and Tier 2 areas to watch Premier League games and other sporting events after the lockdown ends.
Under the softest measures in Tier 1 areas, there will be a maximum crowd size of either 50 percent stadium occupancy or 4,000 spectators. In Tier 2 areas, the stadium rules will be 50 percent of overall capacity or 2,000, according to British Media. However, for those in the Tier 3 measures, fans will still not be able to attend sporting events.
Boris Johnson is set to make an announcement later on Monday November 23. He will make a statement to the House of Commons, and MPs will vote on it later in the week.

The federal government of Nigeria has concluded plans to slash the levy to be paid on imported cars from 35 percent to five percent, according to a new bill to be presented to the national assembly.
The bill which will come as a welcome development to Nigerians who have been financially impacted by a 2020 year plagued by the Coronavirus pandemic, is contained in the draft bill of the 2020 finance bill to be presented to the national assembly.
Once the bill has been passed by the legislature and signed by President Muhammadu Buhari, it'll automatically become law.
The bill also shows that the import duty of tractors and motor vehicles for the transportation of goods will be slashed from 35 percent to 10 percent while tax relief will be granted to companies that donated to the COVID-19 relief fund under the private sector-led Coalition against COVID-19 (CACOVID).
According to Zainab Ahmed, the Nigerian minister of finance, budget, and national planning, had previously explained that the reduction in import duties and levies is being done to reduce the cost of transportation.
“The reason for us is to reduce the cost of transportation which is a major driver of inflation especially food production,” she told state house correspondents at the end of the federal -executive council (FEC) on Wednesday, November 18.
Recall on Wednesday November 18, media aide of Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, Laolu Akande, tweeted on the reduction of import duty.
“President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration is proposing more tax incentives in the 2020 Finance Bill including import duty reductions from 35 to 10% & 0% levies on tractors, transport vehicles & co, 50% reduction of minimum tax, specific TETFUND exemption.
"There would also be tax relief for contributions to the COVID-19 Relief Fund, while retirees’ compensation exemption threshold is to be raised from N10,000 to N10million & software acquisition would now qualify as capital expenditure allowing for tax recovery of same. Expect more."

EndSARS promoter and one of the members of the Feminist Coalition, Modupe 'Moe' Odele, has finally picked up her passport.
Modele was stopped from traveling outside Nigeria on November 1. She was on her way to the Maldives for her birthday when Immigration officials stopped her at the airport and seized her passport. According to them, she was being investigated.
In a recent update shared on her Twitter handle on Monday afternoon, November 8, Modupe said she has been handed her passport and has been told she can travel now.

A mini bus was set ablaze by some angry youths after the driver allegedly killed a commercial motorcyclist in Ibadan, Oyo State.
The accident occurred around 7 am on Wednesday, November 4, along the Idi-Ape inwards Iwo road axis.
It was gathered that the bus crested with 'Power Oil' suffered a brake failure and rammed into the motorcyclist killing him instantly.
According to an eyewitness, the bus driver was initially driving on a particular lane before swerving to the other side of the road as a result of brake failure and hit the deceased. He immediately fled after the incident.
"The youths who were angered by the incident, later set the bus carrying palm oil ablaze after the driver had taken to his heels,’’ the witness said.
The Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Mrs. Uche Chukwurahin the state, confirmed the incident said that the accident involved a bus, a car, and a motorcycle.
She disclosed that eight people were involved in the accidents, out of whom only the motorcyclist died, with none sustaining an injury.
The sector commander said that the accident could have been caused by brake failure, adding that this prompted the angry youths in the area to set the bus ablaze.
Also confirming the incident, the FastTrack Emergency Rescue Operations Team (FERO) of the Oyo State Road Transport Management Authority (OYRTMA), said the remains of the deceased has been deposited in the morgue, adding that "hoodlums within the area looted contents of the mini bus shortly before setting it ablaze."
The Federal government has been accused of freezing the bank accounts of Nigerians who promoted the #EndSARS protests.
Nigerians took to the streets on October 8 to demand an end to the Special Anti-Robbery Squad unit of the Nigeria police and an end to police brutality.
The protest took a different turn when it was hijacked by hoodlums. On October 20, security operatives stormed the Lekki tollgate plaza and allegedly opened fire on the protesters.
Two weeks after the protests, there are allegations that the Federal government has begun a clampdown on persons who promoted the protest via any means.
According to a report by Punch, some #EndSARS promoters alleged that their banks informed them that the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) directed that their accounts be frozen. The apex bank reportedly instructed banks to place a “Post No Debit” restriction on the accounts.
Nigerian pharmacist, Bassey Israel, who was in charge of the #EndSARS medical team in Port Harcourt, reportedly said his account with Access Bank marked 003397XXXX has been frozen since October 15.
“I am in charge of End SARS medical team in Port Harcourt and we had people donating for medical supplies, food, water, ambulance services and these donations were made directly into my account and of course these donations had End SARS descriptions so I think that was how they were able to flag my account.
I noticed that on October 15, I was trying to make a debit transaction on my account and noticed that there was a restriction.
So, I called the bank and I was told that there was indeed a restriction but I should go to any branch near me and when I did so, the branch manager sent a mail to the branch where' I opened the account. The response to the mail was that there was a directive from the CBN to restrict the account.
The lady was surprised and even asked me if I had any issue with the CBN and I responded that if I had any issue with the CBN, I wouldn’t be in the bank in the first place, I would be on the run. I asked what could be done and she gave me no answer. She had to show me the mail on her computer which I read. It was directly from the CBN and it read, ‘Place this account on PND” he was quoted as saying
When asked if others had similar problems, Israel said,
“I know many persons that have this same challenge.”
Another #EndSARS protester who spoke on condition of anonymity, also alleged that she had not been able to access her account and had been informed that it was frozen.
The CBN is yet to confirm or deny this allegation.
On Sunday, Modupe Odele, an #EndSARS advocate, narrated how she was stopped from travelling out of the country by officers of the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS). The lawyer said she was detained and her passport was seized.
The Ministry of Interior, however, denied the allegation that it is compiling the names of #EndSARS protesters on a no-fly list.
