Ace music producer Don Jazzy has finally opened up on the reason why he didn’t sign singers Simi, Teni and Falz at the early stages of their career.

Speaking in a Black Box Interview with Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, the music producer revealed how he lost Falz due to his affiliation with another manager and how he failed to choose Simi in a music contest he organised years back.

Don Jazzy also noted he couldn’t sign Teni because she was based in Atlanta, USA at the time and he had not gotten to the stage of bringing people from overseas down to Nigeria.

Furthermore, he said that the singer he never wanted to manage is Davido because he knew he would become big.

He said;

“I can’t say I turned them down. For Falz, the working situation wasn’t just right. I run a firm that could handle almost everything he needed.

“But I think he had like a management company set up already. It was like Tiwa Savage’s but I had to grow into that kind of scenario where' I had to handle someone that had a record label, some blueprint process.

“I equally didn’t reject Simi. I did a Twitter contest for ‘Journey of A Thousand Miles’. I also loved her cover because she was one of the people that participated but she didn’t win.

“I didn’t pick the winners. I liked her but you can’t sign anybody. That’s one person I also regretted, I won’t say regret. But I wish we worked on stuff together. The same thing with Teni. We used to check up on each other.

“I had not grown to the point that I would move you from Atlanta to Nigeria for work. Now I can and we work before deciding if we are going to sign. Before I knew what was happening, there were faster people.

“She released records and I was like, ‘okay, we lost that one’. Three hot stars. The only person I didn’t want to sign was Davido I didn’t want to sign him but I knew he was going to be huge. They have money already now”

Ace music producer Don Jazzy yesterday shocked the world when he announced he had an ex-wife by the name Michelle Jackson after posting photos of their wedding.

The Mavin CEO whom many had before yesterday regarded as a top bachelor, revealed that he got married when he was just 20 years old and got divorced 2 years later because he gave more attention to his music.

He further stated that he regretted the action, but his love for music can not be replaced with any other thing in the world.

He wrote:

“I getting married? Well truth is almost 18 years ago I was 20 and I got married to my best friend Michelle @yarnstaswitch and it was beautiful. I loved love and I loved marriage. Michelle is soooo beautiful inside and outside with such a soft heart. But then me being so young and full of dreams I went and fucked it up cos I was giving all my time to my Music.

Music became priority instead of my family. We got divorced when I was 22 and it hurt. I am still very much in love with my music and I wouldn’t want to marry another and fuck it up again. So I’m taking my time. Why am I just saying this now?? I really like to keep my relationships private actually. Past or present. But I was watching the bounce interview with Ebuka which is almost like a tell all interview, and I felt bad skipping this huge part of my life. So yeah make una no vex o.”

You can see below the photos of the woman Don Jazzy was married to:

Even as I can't phrase the correct words to express myself, the shock that the news of your demise has brought upon us the Ughoton people, Okpe Kingdom, Delta and Nigeria as a whole, it is indeed glaring that we just lost one of the great leaders of tomorrow to the cold hands of death,"

Taking to his Twitter page to warn the women, Don Jazzy complained about them sending the raunchy videos to him, as he is also in a relationship.

Nigerian producer Don Jazzy, has cried out about ladies sending silhouette challenge videos to his DM.

The dance routine usually features ladies typically dressed down while dancing to Paul Anka’s song, Put Your Head On My Shoulder released in 1987 and stripping when Doja Cats’ song, ‘Streets’ which was released in 2019 comes on.

The women dance under red lights allowing viewers to only see the silhouettes of their naked bodies.

Even though the red light only shows the silhouette, the wrong shade of red, as observed in some of the videos means people can see more than just a silhouette.

What even makes the trend more exciting are speculations that with the aid of virtual reality, viewers can see beneath the red lights.

Taking to his Twitter page to warn the women, Don Jazzy complained about them sending the raunchy videos to him, as he is also in a relationship.

He Wrote;

“People are doing their own #SilhoutteChallenge inside my Instagram DM.” I have a girlfriend ooo."

Following the embarrassing scenario at the Armed Forces Remembrance Day when pigeons refused to fly, the presidency has given an update.

A response has been given by the Presidency after pigeons released by President Muhammadu Buhari refused to fly during the Armed Forces Remembrance Day ceremony.

Recall that Buhari was mocked on social media over the incident.
President Muhammadu Buhari’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina while giving an insight why the pigeons could not fly, said it was because they had been kept in a cage for a very long time.

As a mark of peace, the president usually released white pigeons from a cage during the Armed Forces Remembrance Day ceremony.

But during the 2021 edition of the ceremony, the pigeons refused to fly after Buhari released them from their cage.

This drew negative reactions from Nigerians who described the development as a bad luck.

However, Adesina in an article titled: “Reflections from a wreath laying ceremony”,said:“When birds and some other roaming animals have been circumscribed for a while, they get accustomed to their new status as lawful captives. Therefore, when you offer them freedom, they first baulk, thinking it’s too good to be true. It’s a natural phenomenon.

“President Buhari opened the cage that held the pigeons, about a score or so. One hesitated, then flew, followed by another.

“The others temporized a bit. And then, two, three minutes later, they all took to the sky. Nothing extraordinary in the development, you would think.” Nollywood actress Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde has threatened to take action against a media outlet on Instagram over an alleged affair with APC chieftian Adams Oshiomhole.

About 2 million youths have been rendered jobless following the federal government plan to address security challenges through linkage of National Identity Number with mobile numbers and suspension of new SIM cards registration.

Following the recent suspension of the sale, registration and activation of SIM cards by the Federal Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy, not less than 2 million Nigerian youths have been rendered jobless in the country.

Arewa Telecom Operators Agents and SIMCard Dealers Association (ATOASDA) stated this while addressing reporters in Kaduna.

The telecom dealers, who claimed that they were aware of the Federal Government’s intention to address security challenges through linkage of National Identity Number (NIN) with mobile numbers and suspension of new SIM cards registration, expressed worry that rendering 2 million youths jobless might worsen the security challenges.

ATOASDA President Hassan Yakubu explained that as a registered association under the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) members of the agents supported Federal Government’s measures to protect the lives and property of the citizenry.

The union- leader urged the government to consider that the causes of insecurity across the country have been linked to youth unemployment.

He said the income of the telecoms business partners, workers and the agents, majority of whom are within 20 to 40 years in the value chain, is determined by the number of activations/SIM registration carried out within the month.

Yakubu said: “The suspension of SIM card registration may trigger a worse form of insecurity, especially in the zones most affected by the insecurity. In fact, the growth in the Telecom sector is determined by the very sub-sector that was suspended and the much celebrated 17 per cent contribution by Telecom sector to the gross domestic product (GDP) was as a result of the activities of the sub-sector under suspension.

“We, therefore, wish to advise that the Federal Government can still achieve the desired result as well as avoid creating more problems in an attempt to solve a problem if the suspension is revised immediately to avoid the danger the suspension may expose the youths to.

“We suggest that all existing SIM Cards must be paired with the NIN numbers within a stipulated time, while an average of three months should be allowed for smooth and effective pairing.

“We also suggest that the SIM Cards sale, registration and activation should be allowed to continue, while an average of 10 new NIN machines be deployed in every local government in the 774 local governments of the federation for a better reach.

“That no new SIM Card should be allowed to be synchronised without the support of NIN number and ID card until the SIM Card and NIN number pairing is concluded
,” he said.

Controversial Nigerian OAP Toke Makinwa, has lectured ladies on seeking for a man as a life partner.

She advised them on financial freedom before marriage.

Taking to her social media page, Toke Makinwa, told ladies that while they are praying for a man who is comfortable already, they should also pray for their own pockets.

She wrote that this was one of the mistakes of the past generation and mothers, which led to them paying dearly.

See what Toke Makinwa wrote below;

Ladies..most especially young ladies pls as you are praying for a man that has his shit together, whatever that means to you. (Money,security,etc), pls pray for your pocket too, get your own shit in order too. No one wants a liability, it get some kind insult you want to avoid

A lot of women that supposedly married rich won’t tell you how hard it is when you are solely dependent on your partner for everything, a lot of them are stuck accepting BS. See everyone wants to enjoy but it’s nice when you bring value, when your partner knows that you get too.

Abeg ladies start saving too, buy shares too, buy property if it’s your thing, stand solid or at least try, a man with money is the icing on the cake and not the entire dough.

It’s been long we gisted, been so occupied but the kind of stories I hear that still happen in 20/20 just shows that everyone is looking for a better life, no one wants liability anymore and even those inside not all that glitters is gold.

At least if you enter husband house with small savings, your own car, your own small business however little you are making or more, you can get mouth to talk if shit goes down, a lot of our mothers did not learn financial freedom and many paid dearly some r still paying for it.

I’m not saying don’t aspire to marry rich o, cos everyone is aspiring to come up. Even the guys sef these days are looking to marry up so pls aspire for better but make sure you level up too. Her that degree, take that course, start that business, e get why o

An only son of the family, Emmanuel John and his girlfriend, Chidinma, who were killed by a hit-and-run driver have been laid to rest in Ika North East Local Government Area of Delta State.

The lovebirds died in the accident which occurred on Sunday, November 29, 2020 along Old Umunede/Agbor Road, Ile Quarters, Umunede.

It was gathered that after the driver knocked down Emmanuel and Chidimma, he stopped for a short time. Chidimma was said to have begged him to take them to the hospital but he refused, entered his car and zoomed off, leaving the young couple to bleed to death.

Speaking with Ika Weekly Newspaper on Monday, December 14, Ozioma Obuseh, the elder sister of Emmanuel narrated what transpired on that fateful day.

“My brother came back from church service and said he was going back to Emuhu where' he lived. Shortly after he left, we had the news that he was involved in an accident along Old Umunede/Agbor road, Idumu Ile,"

"Quickly, we ran to the place and saw him and his girlfriend on the ground still alive. It was my brother that told us the person that knocked them down with his car was Lucky Obiajuru Obigama. The girlfriend of my brother passionately asked for help from the driver but was turned down, he (driver) quickly entered his car and zoomed off.

"They stayed on the ground without any help from anybody. We have left everything to God. I know He will give us justice and punish whoever committed this dastardly act." she said.

On his part, he father of the deceased, Mr. John Oghanor lamented bitterly on the sudden death of his only son, saying that the entire family will never forget the circumstance that led to his sudden death.

The Twitter user posed with a red Toyota Corolla and wrote: "Twitter Fams, help me thank @DONJAZZY for blessing me with a car gift. I told Donbaba my car had a breakdown, he sent me 5million naira to purchase this little baby. Thank you sir."

Governor Nasir El-Rufai has raised an alarm over Nigeria’s debt which according to him is getting out of control.

The Kaduna state Governor who spoke at a virtual event organised by World Bank Nigeria, stated that the domestic debt was getting to its debt ceiling as far as liquidity was concerned and there's no need to pretend that Nigeria’s debt-to-Gross Domestic Product ratio was still low.

He said;

“You can’t fund security more than you are doing now unless you reduce spending on other ministries, departments and agencies.

“The extensive way in which the Central Bank is into everything, I think, has to be addressed and dealt with. And we must look at our domestic debt management and do something about it.

“It is getting out of control and we are getting to our debt ceiling as far as liquidity is concerned. And to pretend that our debt-to-GDP ratio is still low, I think is not the answer to the question.”

Commenting on tax collection, El-Rufai alleged that most rich Nigerians don't pay income tax.

He said;

“It is a travesty that in Nigeria, as at 2018, just about 20 people in the whole country paid more than N20m in income tax. It is a travesty and something should be done.

“I think that rich Nigerians don’t pay taxes. They live in huge houses, drive expensive cars but when you see their tax return, you realise that the civil servants on grade level 12 pay more income tax than they do.”

Singer Simi has called out those who ask to hear the side of the abusive partner in a domestic violence situation. The mother-of-one who is married to singer Adekunle Gold tweeted: 'Alleged human beings responding to a woman (possibly risking her life) calling out horrible physical abuse from her husband saying "I want to hear both sides of the story". What is wrong with you???'

She added: 'Many women are unsafe in their own homes. "Be patient. "Pray for your husband." "What of the kids?" So traumatic. Fucking animals.'
